   - The Basic Pattern consists of a ”lazy-S” shape with a few blind alleys. 
 
  
   - The Intermediate Pattern requires that participants move ”backwards” in oder to move
forward. 
 
  
   - Grid-squares ”A” and ”B” of the Intermediate Pattern may be switched in mid-play for added challenge and realism. 
 
  
   - Both patterns offer the choice of ”single- direction” or ”two-direction” play. One team may solve the Maze from either end, or two teams may work from opposite ends in ”competition.”
